Who is Altius?
Altius Health came into the Utah health insurance market back in 1998, when the owners of Altius purchased PacifiCare of Utah. Since then, they were purchased by Coventry HealthCare and they have made Altius into one of the main providers here. They have won numerous customer service awards and have always ranked high in customer satisfaction. We will go over some of their plan options and also what they do and don't cover with their health plans.
Altius Health offers four different types of plans. They offer an HMO, PPO, POS and CDHP. Each plan may not fit all families, so let's go into a little more detail:
On their traditional style of Copay plan that most everyone is used to, Altius offers the Peak Plus plans. Within the Peak Plus category, they offer three levels of coverage; the Platinum, Gold and Silver levels. The least expensive starts at silver and works it way up to the Platinum. With more premium comes more things covered, things covered more quickly and first dollar coverage prior to deductible. Because there are many interchangeable parts on these plans, please give us a call so we can customize the plan to suit you and your family.
Altius Health also offers an HDHP plan. These types of plans are generally used in conjunction with a health savings account (HSA). You can learn more about these types of plans by clicking on the link.
